Lacombe’s Kinsmen Aquatic Centre to open with restrictions on July 15

LACOMBE – As part of the second phase of the provincial relaunch plan, the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre will open to the public, with restrictions, beginning July 15, 2020.

Physical distancing and disinfection protocols will be in effect. Those with COVID-19 symptoms, recent international travel, or recent close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 are asked to not enter the facility.

Initial programs available at the pool include water fitness and low-impact water fitness classes, lane swim, public swim, private rentals and group lessons, advanced courses and recertification courses. Pre-booking will be required for lane swims.

Group swimming lessons will begin with modifications on July 20, 2020. For those with credits on their accounts, registration opens June 29, and on July 2 for the general public. To register go to or call 403-782-1278.

Occupancy limits will be in place for the pool, deck, viewing, and change rooms, along with one-way traffic measures for the lobby, pool deck, and change rooms. There will be minimal use of the change rooms; guests are required to come dressed for their activities and arrive no more than five minutes before their scheduled times.

The climbing wall, Tarzan rope, pool toys, and inflatables will not be available; patrons may bring their own pool toys, provided they are clean and can be disinfected. The hot tub will remain closed until Stage 3 of the Provincial relaunch plan.
