Most of RDC’s classes will be delivered online for Fall Term 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but there will be some in-person instruction for shops, labs or other courses, where this is deemed essential to support student learning.
Masks must be worn at Red Deer College:
- In all common areas
- Whenever a two-metre physical distance cannot be maintained
- By everyone over two years old
All students, faculty, staff, partners and other visitors on campus will be responsible for providing their own face coverings. RDC will not be providing face coverings for general use. There are rare exceptions to this, as the College will procure masks for instructors and students in RDC’s health-related programs who will be providing direct patient care in practicum or lab settings. Individuals employed in RDC’s Health, Safety and Wellness Centre and other certified first-aiders will also receive masks. In these situations, we will procure the appropriate medical-grade masks to help ensure everyone’s health and safety.
Starting on August 24, there will be increased signs at entrances, informing people about face covering requirements. Staff are also informing our partners and guests on our campus, such as fitness centre members, so everyone understands the new protocols and their responsibilities.
Even though the majority of students and employees will be learning, teaching and working remotely this fall, RDC will still have an increased volume of people on campus.
