The City of Lacombe has partnered with local and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award-winning artist Gord Bamford, the Gord Bamford Foundation, and Vesta Energy to host The Gord Bamford Foundation Drive-In & Fly-In Concert, at the Lacombe Regional Airport on Sept. 26.
The COVID-19-friendly concert will feature up to 175 cars, each providing a $75 donation to the Gord Bamford Foundation,which supports kids and youth programs across Canada. The Foundation has also funded approximately $400,000 of community initiatives within Lacombe. The City of Lacombe is providing the venue for the concert, and $5,000 in sponsorship funding. The City of Lacombe said it is proud to collaborate with non-profits that benefit the community,and believe this concert will offer economic benefits for local businesses.It also has the added attraction of taking place during the annual Culture and Harvest Festival. The show will run from 7-8 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Sept. 16. The concert will be hosted just off the main runway, meaning those with aircraft can fly in. Organizers ask that no fly-bys take place during Gord’s set. More details and ticket sales are available at www.gordbamford.com.
