Demolition of houses to make way for Eagle Builders Centre overflow parking underway

DB Bobcat Services out of Lacombe has started the demolition of select houses along the west side of Broadway Avenue in Blackfalds for the Eagle Builders Centre’s interim gravel overflow parking lot.

Demolition completion and parking lot preparation will take about three weeks.

The Town of Blackfalds announced earlier this year that the newly expanded arena and the library will be named the “Eagle Builders Centre.” Town council accepted the naming rights facility sponsorship at their June 23 regular council committee meeting.

The new 1,300 seat arena will include a second ice surface, a 12,000 sq. ft. library, multi-purpose rooms, and the future home of the Blackfalds Bulldogs.

Eagle Builders is based in Blackfalds/Lacombe County. They employ more than 275 people in Blackfalds and area.

There was a formal unveiling held at Eagle Builders on July 23, 2020.
