On Jan. 24, 2021, the Town of Blackfalds learned that a town employee at the Civic Cultural Centre tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member had no personal contact with the public as town facilities have been closed since the latest provincial mandate issued in December.
Staff members who were in close contact with this employee are currently undergoing testing and have immediately started their 14-day isolation, as per provincial and AHS guidelines. The employee’s department’s area will be fully sanitized before staff re-enter the building.
Procedures are in place to ensure business stability for the duration of the quarantine period and residents can be assured that there will be no disruption in service as some staff transition from work to working-from-home. Services, including permits and application forms, may still be provided via phone or email while our facility remains closed and staff are isolated.
