Lacombe Memorial Centre relaxing some restrictions March 3

LACOMBE – The Alberta Government announced Phase 2 of the COVID-19 ‘Path Forward’ on March 1. The Lacombe Memorial Centre (LMC) opening is not initially part of Phase 2 and won’t be available for event bookings. Given this, general public access to the common areas is still not recommended.

Other amenities, however, in the building are open now and accessible using the LMC’s northwesten doors at the parking lot or the south patio doors from Lest We Forget Park.

Anna Maria’s Café is open 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Lacombe and District FCSS on the second floor is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

FCSS is closed for lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m. (More information at www.lacombefcss.net)

As of Monday, March 8, the Mary C Moore Library hours will open for the following times:

•Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

•Tuesday and Thursday: 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.

•Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Library will operate under the following guidelines:

•Public Computers will be available one hour per person per day by appointment only

•Exams proctoring

•Curbside pickup is available in the library and at the back door.

•The book collection will not be open.

Physical distancing and disinfection protocols are in effect. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, recent international travel, or recent close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 are not enter the LMC.

The facility has posted procedures for entering, using and leaving the LMC, and the public will have limited access to the washrooms. Browsing or lingering in the building is currently not permitted.
