Red Deer RCMP Explosives Unit doesn’t find explosives on Hermary Street

Update: April 8 11:30 p.m.

 The RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit has conducted their investigation and has found no explosive devices in or around the vehicle in question at 103 Hermary Street. The scene was determined safe and has been reopened.

The Red Deer RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperate while the RCMP investigated this incident.

RED DEER – The Red Deer RCMP are responding to a report of a possible explosive device in the parking lot of an apartment building at 103 Hermary Street. The area has been contained, and public access has been blocked off.

In the interest of safety, the public are asked to please avoid the area until further notice. The Explosive Device Unit has been called, and Red Deer RCMP remain on scene. An update will be provided as it becomes available.
