Sylvan Lake man wins $500,000

Ross Fraser is a long-time LOTTO MAX fan, but today, he’s an even bigger fan of the long-running lottery game. The Sylvan Lake local discovered one of his LOTTO MAX tickets won $500,020 on the June 22 draw.
Fraser said he was at work when his wife called with the amazing news.
“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “She called and told me what we had won… I had to step away for a couple minutes – it was a lot to deal with!”
Fraser said he will invest his windfall and plans to retire earlier than he had originally expected.
The winner purchased his LOTTO MAX ticket at the Petro Canada located on Highway 43 in Fox Creek.
He won his $500,020 prize by matching all seven numbers of one of the MAXMILLIONS drawn on June 22 – 9, 13, 27, 34, 37, 48, and 50. Regula split his MAXMILLIONS win with another ticket purchased somewhere in British Columbia.
